Why is he so overhated? The retcons were harmless and his powerlevel is kept in check by the holding back/mental illness factor. He is just unironically a good character. Where does the hate come from?

I simply love the Sentry because in the marvel universe where most heroes are sociopathic edgelords having heroes like spiderman,daredevil and golden boi as the guys who just want to do the right thing is very uplifting. I know the Sentry struggles with the void and Marvel constantly tries to turn him edgy with shit like Deathseed or merged form but really the Golden Guardian will always be the best Sentry. Heroes should be heroes!

I enjoy the idea of a proper hero actually existing instead of edgy Bullshit where Avengers fuck everyone over for "the greater good" or X men go full misanthropic mode. Sentry is one of the few characters who acts like a hero to the people with no strings attached.
