Would you like an X-Men game where you play as a mutant attending Xavier's school for gifted youngsters?

Technically, we've had a couple of them. X-Men Legends 1 had you playing as Magma inbetween missions. Then there was X-Men: Destiny, but the less said about that victim of Disney's buyout the better.

no, a school is the most tedious possible setting.
now, if the game was about being a teacher at such a school...

Yes. Sounds fun if it had multiple routes.

As an action game, or a dating sim, OP?

There was a quest I read once that was intended to lead to this but went down the path of mutant crimelord. It was fun. Shame it died.

Can I romance a mutie of my choosing?

You can have anyone but Rogue (She's mine)

Fuck

Do my powers have to be a discount version of the main cast's? Can I make any real choices? Are there specialization roles within the X-Men power structure?

Well that’s too bad because I’m a telepath and you are gay. Now bring me Rogue.

The most important thing about this game is what powers would the protagonist have. Can you pick your mutant powers or does the protag have a set one? Choices would allow more customizability and replayability but a set power would have more story potential if the game ties it to the plot.

I think X-Men: Destiny did the set powers thing. Granted, it also gave you the choice to join either the X-men or the Brotherhood.

Tranny devs would just make it some gay discord shit like "your power is to amplify the powers of other mutants close to you" for the devs obvious self insert Mary Sue protag that is immediately loved by every side character. This is the only thing I see happening due to the horrid state of modern vidya.

There was that one porno dating sim.

>Mansion is blown up

You get to select a basic power category and create your own little OC mutant. Tutorial is a few basics in the mansion during which you have the opportunity to defect to the Brotherhood. Afterwards, you run missions, train, hit on the X-Gender of your choosing, and annoy Logan.

Progress is pseudo-RPG like Ultimate Alliance, allowing you to improve powers over time and find/buy/craft equipment.
