It is, and is a retarded take that exist only for nostalgic morons, new earth Clark was the best, he was extremely competent at his job, with a low profile personality, not the silly caricature confyfags want, why would clark act in the same way during his fifteen year than in his first year as a journalist surrounded by friends and colleagues that know fast he can have an article ready? He is mild mannered compared to LOIS, being introvert doesn't mean he should act like a retarded hulking sperg and that's what some fans want from a character that should be a professional rival to one of the best journalists on the planet. So yes, is outdated, not because that portrayal can't connect with audiences, but because is a replacement for an actual personality.
