The toys barely got a shelf release so they just did the most varied characters I guess. He-man already covered the white guy angle and SunMan and Holographo covered the black guy and bearded black guy angle.

Literally where were these even sold anyways? I heard the original toys are incredibly scarce

Somehow I never knew this was a thing(barely a thing more specifically). Must have been a leftover that was lost in time from the 80s but this does feel like a major he-man cash in that failed.

If I recall, it's from a company created by a black couple who wanted their kids to have black action figure alternatives. They bought MotU and G.I. Joe molds from Hasbro and Mattel, even, apparently.

Honestly sounds like a shame if at least Pig-Head didn't sell a lot, it's a pretty cool orc figure.

However after seeing a bit more into it, I guess it was another attempt in giving African American kids another super hero role model which honestly wasn’t a bad idea but it doesn’t always work especially since he man was already still popular at the time towards all demographics, also pig head is quite literally discount skeletor

They could have used a few more cool villains. Most designs could use a bit more work, too.

I don't think any Sun Man figures used MotU molds. The Bronze Bombers definitely used G.I. Joe molds: the bottom center 4 are Cobra vehicle drivers without even a change of heads, and I could probably place the others if I made an effort.
