That's been a problem since UAF. Remember when OS made a huge deal about how difficult it was to remove or tamper with the Omnitrix? Then in UAF they decide to allow the damn thing to fly off on it's own and then reveal that all the alien DNA was stored on a cloud rather than the Omnitrix itself.
