I think Steven would be better with Peridot or Spinel. Connie just became a bore/nuisance the more time she got on screen. She felt like she was only around for the excitement but once Steven stopped having adventures, she became bored.

Yeah I like their relationship a lot. While it would've been nice to have them together before the end of the show officially, they kind of were already without saying anything. If you compare it to other shows of that era it's amazing that it feels so natural and not forced like usual.

Some spergs do. I personally thought Connie was the worst character in the show. Steven wasn't that far behind. To be honest the whole show would improve if they were never part of it oddly enough. The more interesting stuff tended not to involve them.

Nope. Never hinted at beyond "Boy and Girl friends, duh". Connie was a terrible person, who wouldn't have stayed around Steven if he wasn't magic. She also stole his pet, and only way of contacting Lars, for no reason.

Not that that's really "obscure" just cause it has miyazaki's name attached but it is very overlooked. I can definitely see how they based it off of that though, or well, tried anyway. I don't think it worked as perfectly as they expected. Steven's personality kinda outpaced it
