What is this type of artstyle? I want to have a good fantasy book with this type of illustrations. Idk why, but it makes me feel incredibly nostalgic and cozy.

Quentin Blake style?

Just chuck Dr. Seuss, Maurice Sendak and Tim Burton in a blender and hit puree.

That's actually not too far off

I found the artist. Completely obsessed with Burton. thetownwecallhome.tumblr.com/ Called it.

This just looks like children's books from 30 years ago.

He's got a point. Google Reading Rainbow books and you're bound to find something. I'd recommend the work of Ludwig Bemelmans.

Mentally ill but charming European fantasy.

That King is cute

It's like Burton mixed with Roald Dahl.

>loose and rough style that gives it a rustic "I could do this" charm to it
>lovely texture with watercolor and markers
>bold character silhouettes and design choices that give them a shitload of personality
>makes the fucked up gothic vibe and the whimsical children's book vibe fit together really naturally

This is what peak performance looks like

Worthikids needs to make a Bigtop Burger faux stop motion for a Halloween episode

Yeah, that actually looks a lot more like Quentin Blake's style than Tim Burton's, which makes it work even better.

Don't tell Franki Lew that. They'd be crestfallen.
