Anyone who still buys and reads Big 2 comics needs to kill themselves.

do we have a creative team on this or is it just Aaron Avengers run?

Some more info

Basically, it's just a self-contained mini and not an event. It stars Maria Hill and Nick Fury (shocker).

>civil war
>clone saga
>secret invasion
What other poorly received and infamous events/arcs will get a redo/sequel?

is the women, middle left meant to be Black Widow?

creative team
>writer Ryan North (The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) and artist Francesco Mobili (Daredevil)

Can’t they be bothered to even change the names for the events now?

I wonder if the recently resurrected Veranke is in this. Would make sense that she would lead a faction of her own that doesn't acknowledge a Kree half-breed as her Emperor.

House of Ideas

Marvel wants to have a TPB they can sell to potential new readers interested because of the TV show, and something like this is far more palatable to that kind of reader than the Bendis event.

>he says as he posts about big 2 comics on an anime message board
I'm just going to buy and read them harder

it's synergy user it's so their a book with the name Secret invasion available when the Disney + show is out in trade.
it might also tie into the Meet the Skrulls book since that was collected with a bunch of Secret invasion books recently.

>Just in time for the movies.

You mean that 6 episode tv show starring nick fury? I mean, it is kinda funny that they're turning the dumbest comic event into a spy story focusing on sam jackson. Having bendis' stupid "remember 9/11" comic being this twisted and deformed into something else entirely feels good.

I wonder if they'll keep the allahu akbar part where the skrulls say "he loves you" before they blow themselves up? Feels like the regular people will be smart enough to get it to the point it'll feel crass.

This feels worse in the wrong run though. It’s bad enough that the Big 2 make it so hard when series have so many different relaunches and reboots all under the same name, now they want to do it to the event titles too? No wonder manga is outselling this crap.

What did Secret Invasion have to do with 9/11?

reading this interview north teases that there is a reveal of 90's team
>The original Secret Invasion was also notable for introducing the Secret Warriors, an underground team of super-powered teens spearheaded by Nick Fury, Sr. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that group will be getting back together for the sequel.

>North teases, "Not quite, but there is a bit of a revival of a different team – this one from the 90s – that we haven't seen in a while..."

Sweet, they can erased Captain Marvel for good and bring back the real Carol Danvers

Muh big brother conspiracy!

It's the Skrull Kill Krew, isn't it?

He literally explained it in his posts, the Skrulls were religious extremists.

what else could it be? Force works, Knights of Pendragon?

Ehhhhh, whatever, can't be worse than the first time, right?

>first Veranke was revealed to have never died in Spider-Woman
>now this
Hmmm

So will Triathlon/3D-Man be in this? Come to think of it, he would also be a good character to include in the TV show.

Besides the main example I gave you where skrulls would say "he loves you" before killing themselves and people around them as an obvious reference to suicide bombers?

The whole part where people would be paranoid about people around them being secret "skrulls" was commentary on how muslims were treated post 9/11. Especially the part where even known "skrulls" were persecuted just because their race/religion.

All those scenes in post secret invasion comics where people were going around killing "skrulls" because how they attack us first was also an obvious part.

The post 9/11 stuff Bush did also influenced it

what was the last thing he was in Agents of Atlas?

Not directly, it was Bendis copying BSG.

Which is funny because Dark Reign happened during the start of the Obama administration.

He probably won't be, since the only black people in the main cast are Sam Jackson and the guy who is already confirmed to be the main antagonist. Unless of course, they use original white 3D-Man.
