I gotta say, even though it's based entirely on retcons that make no sense if you read Shang-Chi's original series, I've been liking this new series and his new family.

We're like on the third incarnation of Shang-Chi, I figure. There wasn't a clear break like there was between Jay Garrick and Barry Allen, but I don't see this as the same person in those Doug Moench/Paul Gulacy classics,

Pretty much any "secret family" characters run into the same plot hole of why it took so long for the MC to find out they exist.

To be fair to Shang -chi, even before they had to recon Fu Manchu he had a siblings he didn't know about. If I remember correctly Moving Shadow was raised in secret as a back-up in case Shang-chi fell short of expectations. But then again it's been years since I read that comic so I'm probably wrong.

Honestly all they seem to be adding is the magic land itself which I'm fine with as long as there's no super power rings at the end.
