Keyleth's character did eventually grow on me during the stream, but I feel like Marisha (especially early on) was kind of back and forth on whether she wanted to play Keyleth as the awkward voice of reason, or as another prankster, or as a bad-ass trying to put people down with snarky one-liners.
So the character could come across as awkward at best, and weirdly self-righteous at worst. But a set script irons things out and ensures more consistency than improv does. So you see more of the actual intent behind the character, as the sweet but naively optimistic one, getting in over her head traveling with a bunch of misfit mercs.
