It's weird too because they don't own her, but act like she's their mascot. They fully own Vampirella and she doesn't get nearly enough of a push in books as Sonja does (except maybe during the 50th anniversary stuff in 2019).

Howard's Hyborian age (setting of Red Sonja/Conan) is a mishmash of various premodern setting. Conan's Aquilonia is clearly medieval with knights and pikemen. And Turan which is next to Red Sonja's Hyrkania is pretty much an Ottoman Empire expy.
