if jeremy is excused because screaming is in his nature then charlie is excused as punching was in his nature.

You're still an asshole if you punch someone even if you warned them you were going to do it. More often than not it's just used as hollow justification for acting like a jerk and immediately jumping to violence over any other alternative. At worst, it's just used as an excuse to punch someone or start a fight. In this case, I'd say it's an overreaction.
That said, Jeremy was warned that he was going to get punched if he did that. Maybe he thought Charlie was just exaggerating, but still, that shit's annoying. He knew the risks.

It's hell, I'd assume Jeremy's whole point is to be annoying.

I'm just saying, punching someone for mildly annoying you is an overreaction and an asshole thing to do and justifying it with 'well, I said I was going to punch you' doesn't make it any better or make you sound any less of an asshole. It's legitimately something a child would say. Violence has a time and a place and punching someone as hard as you can for waving his hands in your face is an overreaction.
I don't even know why you'd take an issue with this, Charlie is an asshole, that's his character. It's the entire reason he died and went to hell in the first place.
