Something that bothers me is how Gabriel seemed to be motivated by his desire bring back Adriend's mom so they could be happy and thus having kind of a soft spot for his own son, but then you see episodes like Chat Blanc where he is not shocked but rather willing to throw his own son into oblivion to get what he wants.
If I didn't know the writer is a hack I would theorize Gabriel being the only one responsible for his wife's "death", if he manages to bring her back then we would discover he was an abusive husband and all that crap.

I don't know about that. Personally, each of the bad end episodes, Cat Blanc and Ephemeral, seem to have a different Gabriel than the one we have in the normal canon. Those what-if Gabriel seem to be tuned to max villain and have little to no issues over using Adrien as a pawn in his plans. Which compared to how Gabriel acts out side of those episodes seems out of character. I always assume that something happens in the time skips both those episodes have that turns Gabriel super evil. Maybe it's because Gabriel, and his conflict with his son being one of the biggest obstacles in his path to bring back Emilie, are the main reason I watch this show so I usually lean in favor of Gabriel being a decent guy deep down. But I don't buy Gabriel being a totally bad guy.
I feel there is more to the story with Gabriel and Emilie thay we don't know yet.

No they didn't, and it's still kind of weird. The diet thing you mentioned would have made sense and worked well but all we really got was Sabrina just happened to have bananas and carried them with her the whole episode. It's sort of baffling. Those Kinder Surprise toys have never been the best representations. They should look fine in the movie. Magician is pretty weird though. I didn't expect such a look in Miraculous. But I guess the movie can get a way with a few things the show can't. I'm also a little disappointed there isn't a Gabriel, but that probably wouldn't be a toy most kids would want. It's kind of nice there is an Alya and Chloe though.

That's not the panty line. That's the waistband of her sweatpants and this is a result of unfortunate rigging on her pants there where the bottom of the waistband stretched awkwardly due to the pose she's in on this shot. Assets for the show are sometimes less refined than a cinema production due to the turnaround time, so strange looking imperfections like these are common in the process. And her feet aren't so detailed comparatively to other productions I've worked on so I think they're rated fairly.

Huh, well I think we disagree there. Yeah. Kind of funny there. I sort of try to see it that Su-Han in Ephemeral was having a knee jerk reaction to Ladybug's Miraculous heavy plans and in truth is mostly still a little confused after having been gone for over a hundred years like the rest of the monks. Ladybug telling him no like she did at the end and arguing her case was probably enough to help him get a little over his knee jerk fears. It's not great since Su-Han isn't really given a chance to be much of a character, but I do feel like he could have worked as a character moment.

Yeah, Mylene had one of if not the weakest Miraculous introduction episode of the series. It's laughable how little it really did anything for her while holders of previous seasons had episodes about them for their Miraculous intro episodes. Maybe Luka got a bit of a rough deal since he had to share the episode with Adrien Aspik, but Luka more than made up for it later. There really are way too many holders.

It depends on where you go. On Twitter and tumblr, people loved it. On youtube, people hate it because the talk about opening up about secrets never came and it was a weird parallel ending to hack-san, and Marinette didn't learn to love cat noir because she was drooling over the new guy who was more adiren like. Their are people shitting on Marinette and Adrien for different reasons that come down to a lack of communication between characters that have not been addressed yet. As for me probably a personal favorite episode. The friendship between Plagg and Adrien is one of the best things this series has going for it. The thing at the end where plagg tells adrien you are both cat noir and adrien deep down was really nice to hear, it felt like this season Adrien really came into his own despite me wanting to see even more of him but what we have gotten has been at the very least good.

It's interesting to hear what kids thinks on that aspect of the show. They are the target audience so their input is important. As far as bloat is concerned though, it's either going to get really bad next season as they try to force an episode for every holder even though most of those characters haven't done anything for a long while or most of those characters are going to get ignored like they already have this season. Either way doesn't sound good, though if I had to pick one I'd rather they just get shelved so the show can focus on important things. It would suck for characters like Sabrina who are little more than a joke or Zoe, who is barely even a character but there is only so much time to hand out.

Funny that. Su-Han is the Celestial Guardian and the actual appointed guardian of the Miracle Box. The dude has probably gone through rigorous training and studying to have gotten to that position and then kid Fu gets hungry and accidentally traps Su-Han and the whole monastery in a timeless void for over a hundred years. Then they're freed. Being his assignment, he hunts down the box and finds kids took over and are handling the Miraculous he probably spent his life working to protect. Then a Akumatized Fu later he just says to hell with it and decides to mess around Paris instead and leave it to Ladybug. I honestly wish we had more of Su-Han. Not because I particularly like the guy but because his showing sort of paints the monks and the whole Miraculous order in a bad light.

IMO this was not entirely a filler episode and really would have been best if released on time/in order.
The first 3 episodes of the season focus on how she can't have a boyfriend, and she gives up on both Luka and Adrien. But for the rest of the season she is right back to chasing Adrien again, and for me at least it was a bit disjointed.
I realize now that Ep4 Mr Pigeon72 is when she goes back to chasing Adrien; but it's right at the end of the episode and she doesn't say it directly. Kagami says that Adrien is perfect for her, and then Marinette sees Adrien and he comments about the umbrella, and as he leaves she says that life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain or some shit. Again it's right at the end of the episode, and maybe it was just me, but after having 3 full episodes dedicated to how dangerous and bad it would be to have a boyfriend, 1 minute at the end of Mr Pigeon didn't quite register with me that she had made the choice. Ep5 Psychomedian reaffirms right at the start of the episode that Marinette has decided to start pursuing Ardien again, while talking to her friends about her failures and coming up with a new plan to win him over.
Had this been released in order, I feel like it wouldn't have been so jarring for me to see her chasing Adrien after 3 episodes of boo hoo I cant have a boyfriend and be a superhero at the same time.

If Nathaniel was actually developed beyond be the bi classmate with drawing skill, his beef with Chloe would be a thing very interesting.

I think the guardians are necessary at least to have a decent bridge to some kwami lore.
I didn’t dislike Fu’s role in the show (Backwarder and Feast were good episodes centered around him), but I agree that Tikki and Plagg choosing Marinette and Adrien would make more sense, if only because they are the more powerful kwamis (for what we know).
Bar the seven kwamis originally introduced, the other twelve should have stayed as assorted trinkets scrambled around Paris or brought there by the guardians choosing “selected” people to retrieve Plagg, Tikki and Nooroo.
And then having Marinette, Adrien and Gabriel each collecting some of them/trying to get them from the other party.

idk if i'd call that development. Her returning to the status quo and drooling over Adrien again just feels like undoing an arc after they decided they didn't like it anymore. The Luka and Kagami arcs felt really short, totally meaningless and the endings were abrupt and not very well foreshadowed. It seems more like they just wanted to drop the plotline, not like Marinette and Adrien had ended it for a legitimately interesting reason related to their characters. It would have been really easy to just splice in a frown from Luka or Kagami a few times in some other episodes here and there. Maybe express some frustration an episode or two earlier. but they just dropped the thing like a hot potato with nothing really learned for either of the characters.

The idea of Luka and Kagami's relationships breaking apart would have been an idea that could have been stretched out over the course of a few episodes at least but being condensed to the first two episodes was a bit of an odd way of doing it. I can only imagine that the writers didn't really want to write Adrien and Marinette in relationships with anyone but still wanted to pay off the setup they had been doing so they started and ended it in two episodes.

Well for Adrien at least the stuff she said about him not being the model boy or the clown foreshadowed this season of Adrien finding himself and was stated again by Plagg in Kuro Neko, so now we know Adrien's real personality is somewhere in between. Also Lies despite having a bad ending for Adrien is far more realistic of a breakup than truth. Truth also doesn't need to happen because Marinette just spills the beans to Alya in a gang of secrets and she could have just told Luka but whatever. Marinette has taken a real hit this season in terms of consistency and she's come off as far worse than the writers planned her to come off. In comparison Adrien's actions and his life are far more interesting to observe from his perspective than his co-star, since I liked Adrien more than Marinette anyway I have no issues with it other than I wish Marinette got less screen time, but that's not gonna happen.
