when I got into black metal I listened to this and just thought its garbage noise anyone could make. I really was unable to appreciate the sound and feeling in general.
took me 10 year of listening to "softer" , more atmospheric black metal and gradually refining my taste towards more raw and lo fi black metal.
when I noticed that my taste has changed I gave the album a listen again and it clicked so god damn hard.
I was finally "getting" black metal

Merriweather blew me away on first listen and instantly listened to all their earlier albums and fell in love with each one. It was a type of music I always imagined existing but that I never thought I'd actually hear. I find it strange when I see people saying "this FINALLY clicked on the x listen." It just makes me think I like Animal Collective more than them.
