It's a great album, don't get me wrong, but I'm not quite sure that I would place it over World Downfall or Pulverizing Lethal Force. Any particular reasons as to why you think BT have the best deathgrind album?

I would say that FETO is easily the best project put out during their classic grind era, but (and I know this will come across as shilling, but fuck it) I really feel like Excruciating Terror might have outdone them on both Expression of Pain and Divided We Fall. Those albums are the product of this rare moment where a band basically apes another bands style, but changes around some of the component parts without actually fucking it up.

Martin Alvarado's style is one I find to be a lot more interesting than Mick Harris's (at least on the first two ND albums and Mentally Murdered). His more death metal inspired style of skank beats with heavy rolls on the kick both set the band apart from ND and went on to inspire other great old school grind bands like Horrible Pain and Insect Warfare. As far as the guitars go, Raul Cabballero and Jerry Flores have this west coast powerviolence character to their riffs that gives the band that distinctive SoCal vibe, which I jive with more than the ENT/Discharge vibe of early Napalm Death.

Overall, I just find them to have done the old school crustgrind style with more flavor than ND did, but to ND's credit, at lot of that comes down to them being imitated so frequently.
