I fucking hate Pearl Jam
The yarl can be grating, but Vedder is a great songwriter, and Vs. and Vitalogy are great albums. I'm not so big on Ten because it sounds like overproduced arena rock, but after that they had a rawer sound, and I love their folk rock stuff.
I claim Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town.
Daughter is a close second.

I do prefer Soundgarden and Nirvana, but Pearl Jam is a close third, and all three are some of the best rock bands ever. I would say I'm more into contemporary movements like Britpop and early post-hardcore, but this gives me pause, because it's incredible how great those bands were, especially for one scene. Great songwriters.
Some rather underground grunge bands deserve mention, like Babes in Toyland, Tad, Hazel, and Paw.
I find all those bands much more enjoyable than Alice in Chains, or especially Stone Temple Pilots. AiC has great moments, but they often lose me. STP just sounds like shit to me, though.
>I'm not so big on Ten because it sounds like overproduced arena rock, but after that they had a rawer sound
that's exactly what makes ten so good and Vs/Vitalogy so shit thoguh.

This, my father loves them, and he can't take most of the other 90s bands.
