lmao you guys are so fuckin dumb sometimes

Flat you fucking retard.

>bass boost
Inhale sarin gas.

yes that would be why im here, looking for knowledge i myself do not possess

Were just here to laugh at you

if you're really gonna use an equalizer for music (which doesn't make sense most of the time considering most times the album is mixed as it is intended to be experienced), in the rare cases that you might, you should really adjust the levels based on what album you happen to be listening to. There's no one-size-fits-all mixing preset that is going to make everything magically sound good because every album or even song has different ratios of frequencies across the spectrum. Those "rock" and "classical" equalizer presets you see in certain software is mind-numbingly stupid and pointless. It's also pretty crucial to actually know how to use an equalizer to actually get any use out of it.

Unless the producer of the music you're listening to is a fucking moron, just set all the levels right in the middle. Even if you're listening to rap. You probably don't know sound better than a professional.

flat, if you want to hear what they intended
otherwise you need to know what you want
there's no one-size-fits-all setting, otherwise every mastering company would do the same exact shit

this
i had the same equalizer and when i was listening to joy division it sounded fucking horrible same with have a nice life, dont use bass boost some albums with great bass are gonna sound shitty af

ahh i see, yeah that make scene

Depends on your speakers and also on the music you're listening to and also on your personal preference. Don't be afraid to play around a bit. You can start with a "smiley face" pattern that is a popular sort of template for consumer stereo EQs.

Peace GUI for equalizer APO.

Genuinely sounds like shit without this EQ

>13.5dB 16k boost
go to bed, gramps

You guys are retards.
>how the producer intended...
The producer was mixing with hd600, and intended for the mix to sound good for the hd600. If your headphones have a different frequency response, then it can make sense to adjust your eq's to get a more neutral sound.
I hate how you post like condescending retards while being as ignorant as OP
Btw, OP, if you want to listen to music buy the hd600. Headphones like razer's are made for retards with little regard for sound quality, an eq can't fix that.

>The producer was mixing with hd600
he wasn't, though
no one mixes with headphones

everyone mixes with headphones retard
is also retarded though. Music is mixed to sound good on a variety of systems including HIFI systems, car speakers, smartphone speakers and headphones

If your producer isn't mixing first in headphones, then on monitors, then - the ultimate test - in the car, then they suck fucking dick at their job. Everybody who makes music I've ever talked to and shared info with has said mixing on headphones is half the battle and the car test is the real end-all-be-all. And in my own experience, they are right. If your shit doesn't sound good in less-than-ideal conditions it isn't gonna sound good to most people listening, and they will have to do your job for you by adjusting their EQ to get the best experience. You really fucking believe artists and producers don't spend time listening to their music on different systems? Get the fuck out of here you fucking tourist.

No, shitty producers mix on headphones. The real ones use monitors to mix with retard

they mix on both you fuckhead. You obviously have no clue. Why do you think studio headphones exist and why do you think every producer has them?

op, don't listen to these pompous dicksnot slurpers. unless you're listening on high-end studio grade music gear every single time you listen to music, your music is going to sound better with EQ adjustments to compensate for the qualities your equipment is lacking. it's going to depend on a lot of different factors but you'll find a setup that consistently works. my entire library (rock, jazz, rap, dnb EVERYTHING) sounds better with a simple upward curve. slight boost on the low and high ends, and a slight dip in the middle. guitars shine through nicer and sound more textured, vocals sound tighter, percussion is more legible, cymbals slice through like they should. it's a noticeable, objective improvement. just don't fuck with the preamp
