The 80's had a sound. The 90's had a sound.

What sound did the 2010's have?

Trap unfortunately

The 10s definitely had a distinctive sound, it was just a horrible one.
Think the millennial whoop, autotune, the Mac Demarco warbly guitar sound, gruff hipster Mumford and Sons style voice or generic "indie girl" voice (the "here in mah kitchen" meme)

to me the 2010s will always be listing to future funk, vaporwave, city pop, mixes while browsing tumblr porn and syrian civil war generals on pol

oh yeah, remember like when EDM got big and the whole response to it was like mumford and sons folk pop garbage.

christ, at least when electronica got big in britan the response was fucking madchester

>best day of my life

sounds like the background music for a yogurt commercial

god i hate my generation

Yeezus

EDM, vaporwave, trap
stomp clap folk pop
last desperate fart of indie music with shit like somebody i used to know and pumped up kicks
mac demarco core
all those micro genres like ocean grunge, seapunk, witch house, etc

pretty much nailed it

>last desperate fart of indie music with shit like somebody i used to know and pumped up kicks

yeah this sort of indie pop mixed with some 80s synthpop influences was big in the early 10s. m83 midnight city was another one, then there was some other stuff like fitz andd the tantrums, phoenix, neon trees, portugal the man, tame impala did it on currents.

what really scares me is how stagnant the 2020s have been so far, its almost the mid 20s and its just the same trap garbage thats been popular since the late 2010s. no new refreshing sound for this decade, its like music died

Reggaeton

just latin trap, brings nothing new to the table, you might as well say kpop lol

House music is getting bigger which leads to innovation

whoop is an icp thing, dumbass

Uhh....what about guitars?

new sounds come from the underground, not beyonce trying to force meme a genre that isnt popular

Fuck off you know I’m right
