One of the greatest bands of time.

I like their 70s output
My biggest problem with Queen is how utterly weak their bass and drums (especially the bass) sound compared to their contemporaries. I often wonder about how amazing March of the Black Queen would be if the bass/drums had any power at all behind them. Their first two records are my favorite but they also have the weakest production out of their whole discography
faggets
Tried listening to them a couple years ago, liked the first album but dropped them after I heard the second, which sounded kind of wanky at the time. Now that I got into The Tubes and Roxy Music, maybe it's time to try again.
Overrated band carried entirely by their vocalist.
They were all great musicians though and Brian was a more consistent songwriter than Freddie.
This. None of their studio albums were good. They had massive hits that were good but besides that, really nothing special at all.
Made like 20 of the greatest songs of all time, lol. One of the GOAT's
Guarantee you haven't listened to any of their albums
Unironically one of the best bands ever. Their popularity is justly deserved. Mercury is obviously an incredible singer, but May and Taylor were good when they sang, too. Deacon is obviously the least popular member, but he was a great bassist, just as good as the others. Musically/compositionally extremely competent. What good would the vocals be if not for the great music behind it?
Freddie had a higher ceiling though
I am a fan of Queen but I agree the albums aren't that great if you expect them to be like the singles. Too much Roger and Brian singing, the songwriting veering off in strange directions, overall a schizophrenic vibe from track to track. Their creative process was very democratic which worked great for the singles but maybe what let them down for the albums.
>Too much Roger and Brian singing
With incredibly rare exceptions, Freddie sings every song starting from Hot Space. Even before that, the most Roger and Brian sang is three songs per album, and it's not as though they had bad voices.
>the songwriting veering off in strange directions, overall a schizophrenic vibe from track to track
People will say this in praise of something like the White Album or London Calling, but then criticize Queen for the exact same thing. It's a good thing their songs are eclectic and don't all sound the same.

eat shit and die you fucking retarded tasteless pleb
more like Br"Gay"an May lmfao

It's good if they could pull it off (ie make all the songs great). Whether they did is debatable.
Pop rock and queen is a singles band
I really like made in heaven but I really dislike the music video
So what are the songs where you think their eclectic style didn't pay off?
