Why is 4/4 time so popular? Why do so many choruses have 4 lines? What's so significant about the number 4? Is it satanic?

Yes. Also, they're on to you now that you've realized this. Watch your step, and trust no one.
I don't care about that kind of thing
everything can be done in 4/4, w-ACK!!-y time signatures are an age old meme
Normies want predictable shit to wave their vaginas around to.
What?
ultimately because 4/4 is based on the concept of 2 and brain loves a bit of symmetry, something to do with the fact that people usually got 2 of each limb, 2 balls in a sack or 2 tits, 2 asscheeks, 2 eyes, 2 ears etc, makes you go from one side to the other and back like watching a pendulum on grandfathers clock going from one side to the other and back. It satisfies the primal urge (for most people, I think) to experience symmetry and express it.
4/4 = movement. And movement feels good. Yeah you can have a polyrhythm to stroke your beard to but your body won't move to it in a natural way unless you're .. a very special child
because the phrase "four on the floor" sounds cool
time signatures outside of 4/4 are a meme, everything can be done within it with proper rests a.d stretches and such but self important composers/writers like to use silly time signatures to add an air of gravitas/expertise to their music that they were unable to convey within the music itself
basically a tool for hacks
the only time signatures that actually exist are 3/4 and 4/4
(You)
You're welcome.
> Is it satanic?
The opposite, retard.
>4/4
>>/sci/
I bet they know
It sounds good, retard
>Why is 4/4 time so popular?
because 2/2 and 2/4 are too slow, 3/4 and 6/8 reminds people of waltzes and medieval music, 12/8 was done to death by doo wop, and odd signatures like 7/4 and 10/4 do not make for good dance music. So 4/4 dominates.
another failed guitarist filtered by time signatures lmao
For the reason you dont step your right foot twice when walking. If you break the weak-strong alternating pattern in a rhythm it feels awkward. But pleasingly so at times
you might actually be mentally retarded
>seething theorylet
i used to transcribe time signatures into 4/4 as a hobby, seethe harder sam
>you might actually be mentally retarded
most people have 2 hands and 2 feet
singing a good song while you walk makes your burden lighter

by the way, ban anyone who posts a frog/feelsman variant and the posting quality would improve immediately
hiro pls respond
cry about it nigga
But why would you write or think of something like this as 4/4 when it is more easily and intuitively expressed and understood as what it was intended to be? Though really I'm not thinking about that when listening. I am just enjoying the turbulent sense of rhythm and repetition.
youtu.be
When I listen to that its literally 4/4 what are you on about
>actually retardposting
