ITT post albums from bands that were a blatant style switch. I don't really know what this album was going for, I guess it's labeled "alternative metal", but it's pretty boring.

what prison does to a mfer
not a band but
>I don't really know what this album was going for
they were attempting to ride both the groove metal and grunge waves at once.
it works really well at times, Only and Room for One More are incredible songs, but a lot of it is really boring like you said. album drags on for too long
To go from the amazing album "Odium" to this... I still can't figure out what the fuck they were thinking.
Better than the next two albums that were straight up groove metal. Pantera was a blight on the industry.
Cemented their status as a poser band.
This album > the whole of the Belladonna era
Burzum was never black metal, mfer. This one does sound like shit though.
Cemented your status as a gigantic underrage faggot.
Used to love this band until they went and did this and tried to get into the Eurovision song contest.
Try to remember the good times...

It wasn't as drastic a change as Machine Head (Burning Red) or Slayer (Diabolus) and it was a good album overall, so i'll allow it.
The most obvious example. A much better album than the critics made it out to be too, with some of their best ever songs on this album. The British press have a strange habit of building up artists just so they can knock them down. They did the same with Oasis' Be Here Now a few years later.
I remember a review saying they were trying to be Led Zeppelin
The Led Zeppelin influence is obvious, but then they also wore their influences on their sleeves on their seminal debut too (The Byrds, The Beatles, etc). They have never been an original or innovative band, their talent lay in their ability to use their influences to craft songs with attitude and atmosphere.
yeah i dont get why did the quality drop at the same moment as well
go away metalfags fuck you
Their worst album and it's still a solid 7/10
Repent your lies, child.

And from then on they carried on releasing House music. Quite a style shift for only 5 years.
Black album (not load/reload like retards say)
Also it's better than and justice for all
