Why is it that most good artists are men and women barely make good music? The idea that men and women are equal is a joke.

>inb4 angry women/coomers start listing bunch of pop/rap/edm/k-pop female """artists"""
Just stop, you're pathetic.

the only good female musician i can think of is Nico, and John Cale did all the heavy lifting there anyways. Liz Fraser's a great singer though

Don't forget producers too, all those popular exceptions such as Kate Bush and Bjork would have been nothing without the male producers and session musicians in the studio. Anyway, I think the reason for this is because men are naturally cooler than women. Due to bullying and loneliness, men have to develop personalities that help them survive on a daily basis. This is why all the cool and interesting personalities are male such as Iggy Pop, James Brown, Jim Morrison, Mark Sandman, GG Allin, Johnny Cash and so on. Women can only imitate, they can try and be "punk" like Iggy Pop but it all turns out to be cookie cutter Pop Punk shit like The Runaways and blatant sell-out Bubblegum Pop like Blondie (Patti Smith is no exception, just a knock-off Iggy Pop with a vagina). There wasn't a single female artist in the West who carved out a musical path not yet walked by a man.

The only true exception to this is Janis Joplin however. Just like Esther Vilar and Ayn Rand, she is proof that not all women are complete retards. but due to the easy-mode that women live on, these interesting creative women rarely show up.

because we live in a patriarchal world where any form of independent expression by women is met with fear and retaliation by men desperately clinging onto power.
incredible women artists exist, you're just stuck in your own cultural bubble with the rest of the incel community

This thread sucked shit yesterday, too, OP.

hi, tranny!

Name 20 female "artists" that could come close to the works of Scriabin or Ennio Morricone

I think it's because women are different to men in at least two main points:

>They're less creative
>They're more sexual and tend to express this in their art

Since music is one of the most abstract art disciplines and one of the less sexual (in comparison to, for example, poetry and dance, art disciplines in which women are prominent) this makes it look less interesting and harder to get into to women.

Christopher Hitchens' rant on why women aren't funny can be directly applied to why women can't make music.

There are good women artists, but it's never usually something innovative or experimental. It's always usually playing it safe in an established genre, not taking any chances, writing bedroom twee songs on an acoustic guitar or generic dance pop. Even "experimental" indie darlings like Bjork have a team of men producing and ghostwriting their shit.

Women are not funny and neither is Hitchens smart or someone to read and follow.

This. With some exceptions, most of the domains of their lives are being lived on easy mode. They never needed to develop any other skills to compensate. Patrice O'neal makes very similar points too

Morricone himself thinks his movie stuff is utter shit

He was by no means the most brilliant political analyst if that's what you're saying. But he was smarter than the average person, whether you want to admit it or not, and made some insightful comments more than once. This was one of them. So actually present a counter-argument to the reason why women aren't as funny or cope harder.

He's right, most soundtrack scores are mid at best, but he has his fair share of good releases normies don't even know about

You are a soulless piece of shit with surface level taste, no surprise you will never understand the simple genius of someone like Morricone or Schubert.

Nah, he's right there but he is still cringey lefty Anglo with a hateboner for America

America fucking sucks dude

Serious female artists are not popular and you'd be shocked at how many good ones there actually are, they're just not the ones most people pay attention to, for obvious reasons, unless theyre also beautiful or loud. You'd never really hear most of them unless you made a point of seeking them out, same reason they don't have a lot of female fans but their fanbases are still largely female. If you want to be an icon as a female you usually need to appeal en masses to both sexes, but that is much harder to do as a female since it's almost impossible to reach a large male audiencd without sex appearl, but females have no problems listening to, relating to, and idolizing male artists. Males won't do the same for female artists because women's lower status and the social appearance of men listening to female artists(people might think you're gay). So female popstars have less wiggle room and seem same-y because they are. Men have more room to work with because they don't necessarily need to sell sex first and the only women that can get away with being less sexual have to focus on themes of love and be generic af or they're nobodies. Look at Any Forums and how little you see important female artists vs. their male counterparts vs. Lauren or Hayley or Taylor

There's also the fact that there are about 30 males going into the industry for every female. Obviously if you want the top 2% of a pool of 100 vs. a pool of 30 you end up with 2 guys for every 0.6 females. because females don't need to be virtuosic or successful in their hobbies to make better mates, males do, but lack of drive doesn't mean they're incapable, just less likely to happen. When younger females focused on family instead their music careers and we shit on them for not becoming great musicians we shouldn't really be surprised when they stop wanting to sit at home and raise our children

Division of labour.

Maybe, but the whole "muh greedy and selfish Americans bad" shtick is Reddit.
