No. Kerrang and Alt Press were always for shitty music, and that was obvious even when I was a teen. In my early teens I liked MOJO, NME, Q, and scans of old Creem and Punk issues. There were also a couple punk magazines that were irregular at the local shops, but I'd pick them up when I saw them, like Loud Fast Rules and Maximumrocknroll. I picked up a couple issues of Under the Radar.
Later on I mainly just read Decibel, Terrorizer, and sometimes Revolver. I was still more into indie than metal, but for some reason those metal magazines were way higher quality than anything about indie.
