i'm sorry user my mom also died years ago but i can tell you from experience she'll never truly leave you.
for me most of the music that makes me cry tends to be music which fills me with a sense of sublime beauty or happiness, rather than sad songs. which is usually ambient or really fast paced dancey music for me, like plunderphonics, which prob isn't appropriate for this thread. although here is a song which is both emotionally despondent and dancey as hell, which i cry to sometimes.
