for me, tpab is the better album because it has a theme with each song connecting with the theme in some way and kendrick explores many areas of music (where as nas is pretty limited in the sonic department). that being said, i replay illmatic way more because tpab requires more attention and focus from me, where as illmatic its pretty straight forward, 30 minutes of straight to the point hip hop.
