When SlaphappySammy joined the danger was gone. They were just too buddy-buddy doing the conga across the stage. Sammy was servicable, they made some decent music but nothing remotely as cool or interesting as the Classic DLR 6-pack. DLR was one of the most unique and interesting characters in all of rock and roll. Sammy made you want to party...Dave was the party.
Even the reunion album from 2012 shows just how combustible and awesome DLR/EVH were.
