ITT: Underrated Canadian artists.

I'll start.
>Metric
>Crystal Castles (though more people know about them now I guess)
>The Tea Party
>Big Wreck (idk if they're actually Canadian but they're only popular here so whatever)

I just realized I don’t know a single Canadian band….and I didn’t know Metric was from there.
Anyways, time to listen to Calculation Theme for the millionth time.

Big Wreck is partially Canadian. Thornley is a leaf
How about Trews, or Flatliners?

>Big Wreck is partially Canadian. Thornley is a leaf
Makes sense. They're the only good rock band that actually does shows in my shitty northern Canadian city so I've always liked them.

Anyway, Annihilator.

These bands literally only see play because of cancon regulation that canadian stations must play a certain amount of Canadian content.

I wish the Guess Who were more respected, but they sold more singles than albums so they never got any serious credit.

Sad but true. The Guess Who only got big because they tricked radio stations into thinking they might be British or American. It sucks in a way because it was the first step in Nickelback and Three Days Grace getting hugely popular, plus there plenty of bland small town radio rock like the Tragically Hip and the Trews which I never need to hear again. But then it also led to bands like Sloan, Rusty and the Killjoys getting fairly popular back in the '90s. Those three would likely have been small-time/indie bands if they were American to begin with.
