>prog metal but good
I'm thinking based
Prog metal but good
Am i the only one thinking Voivod doesn't sound verry metal. Get some post-hardcore vibes sometimes.
they do have a noticeable post punk edge
I really should give them a try, what's a good album that's considerably metal
Recs like this? This shit goes hard
Vektor - Charging the Void, the logical conclusion to prog thrash.
Doom (the Japanese band) is probably the closest sounding group to Voivod.
Vektor doesn't sound like Voivod at all, Vektor's like a modern Obliveon.
Negatron is their only good album
I think the early stuff is more thrash IIRC
First two albums are pure thrash metal, but for their time it's considerably more heavier and "proggy" than any other thrash metal to that point.
Killing Technology is their first truly prog metal album but it's still heavily rooted in thrash metal.
Dimension Hatross further goes down the prog path, followed by Nothingface which is considerably more progressive.
But they're still metal albums.
Angel Rat's a weird alternative rock album.
The Outer Limits is a psychedelic/prog metal album.
Never heard of Obliveon, gonna have to give it a listen cause I love vektor and wish they would release a new album.
Also I fucked up the album name, its Terminal Redux.
>Never heard of Obliveon
This demo is literally 1980s Vektor.

There should be a chart for prog metal that's actually progressive akin to classic progressive rock while excluding buttprog like dream theater, haken, mastodon and opeth.
