Horrible fucking album. Just horrid. Horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid, horrid—HORRENDOUS. Horrific!!!!

correct, everything after that was just boring wankery or boring drone

by perfecting it
many such cases

This album and any music that sounds like it (crescendocore) shouldn't even be considered post-rock, it's so different from what the original post-rock bands sounded like

Not even their best album, Allelujah is better

that's not the point of the thread you mong

How could it ruin the genre if they made better albums after it moron

hurr durr something something loveless xd

by creating a wave of shitty crescendocore copycats (which predate allelujah)

Point me to the rest of the genre then. To me it's the absolute best of post-rock. I especially the dark atmosphere of F#A#inf.

Check stuff like Cul de sac and spirit of eden

most p4k-core indie

You mean albums that perfected and concluded genres

why is gy!be so hated by some, it seems like pretty uncontroversial pleasant to listen to instrumental music. are people just trying to be contrarian because they feel its overrated?

what genre did it even ruin?

Probably because it's easy to criticise for being formulaic and "cheaply" emotive, and a lot of fans tend to be kinda pretentious. Also it's popular and entry-level so it's perfect contrarian bait
It's unironically a masterpiece though and my favourite album

This is the real answer. Still a fantastic album though
