You start and end with Quadrophenia

Start with My Generation and end at The Who Sell Out

Listen to the fabulous "live at Leeds" !

/thread.

Start with a single by a band called The High Numbers.
Songs are I'm The Face b/w/ Zoot Suit.
After that, listen to their releases in chronological order.

Are you new to music? Listen to their albums in chronological order. Hell, I'll even help you out
>My Generation

>Who's Next
>Quadrophenia
>Odds & Sods
>The Who by Numbers

Optional:

>Rarities Volume 1
>Rarities Volume 2
>The Road to Tommy (Found on The Who Sell Out Super Deluxe)

Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy is good, but it's essentially just a singles collection, and not even a complete one at that.

There used to be an unauthorized compilation album put out by the TMOQ record label called Who's Zoo which had all the pre-Tommy singles on it. That's a good collection if you can find it. Also 30 Years of Maximum R&B is a good compilation although rather dated since it came out in 1994. Other compilations that are decent would be Wholigans, and Who's Missing 1 & 2. Also the C.D. re-issues of their albums have bonus previously unreleased tracks, so get those as well.

>but it's essentially just a singles collection
If he skips the additional albums, he'll miss 8 of the 14 songs.
>and not even a complete one at that
Rarities 1 would cover the missing ones, Dogs and The Last Time.

Dogs (Both parts) and The Last Time are on Who's Zoo. All three are great songs. I love Pete's guitar work on The Last Time. Kind of a shame that The Rolling Stones got released from jail before The Who could cover Jumpin' Jack Flash, though.

You start by ending.

They're also all on Two's Missing, which you mentioned. The rarities collection omits Dogs 2 for whatever reason.

Well, that sucks.
For an instrumental, it slaps!

Tommy and Who's Next

Their only good album is Sell Out

/thread.

Highly overrated here in Any Forums, not even top 3.

I like it because I like shit like that. Like Mothers and The Residents. I don't like their other stuff. Not into Rock Operas and too dad rocky for me.

Listen to By Numbers then.
You should dig their other earlier albums, A Quick One at least.

Literally Who?

Start where the guitarists a nonse and got away with it
