My earbuds broke recently so I've been imagining the music in my head on my bus to work and holy shit I might not even buy another pair. I can listen to any song I want at any time and change by just thinking.

yeah, it works decently well for me, and depending on my state of mind/what drugs I'm on I can often get like 50%+ of the same dopamine hits during it. it's actually kind of a cool neurological phenomenon. but of course, nothing can quite beat the real thing with good headphones
