so why does everyone ignore or deny his impact on the pop industry? even outside of this board, no one seems to acknowledge the trends he sets in pop (e.g. 80's revival in 2019, edm/dance revival of this year). and this is aside from the fact that he created a whole subgenre with his early r&b works. and that one record which straight up sounds like something from a sci-fi soundtrack.... what gives?
