I think it's worth considering that Bowie was playing his Thin White Duke persona, who was a fascist, and he was very fucked up on drugs at the time. Still, hard to give this a pass because you'd think even someone committed to a role wouldn't go that far outside of a movie. Bowie was very pro-LGBT rights, married a black Somali woman, and was a major supporter of Jewish artists like Lou Reed and Marc Bolan.
