Prog rock was born around 1970 and was dead by 1980
Anything else that came after and that tried to imitate that, including "neoprog" and "prog" metal, is just soulless larping, mimicking all the superficial elements of the gender without the deeper knowledge of what made them work

Hmm user...
Prog SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!!!!!
Neoprog is fucking awful. Marillion should be tried with crimes against humanity.
Half right, half wrong
King Crimson NEVER made a bad album
Yes had some neat late works too
Canterbury Scene > Other Prog
Agree
But...
Discipline is awesome, but not prog
Same goes for other stuff they made
my uncle gave an OG copy of this on vinyl. such great performances and the only prog I listen to (besides king crimson)
"Prog" metal isn't even progressive.
MOST modern prog is larping
You're mad that they're touring again, aren't you?
Didnt even know lol
There are exceptions to the rule of course, this is one of them

Been on a huge Magma kick lately, those guys sound sick, thanks user
Corima's pretty cool. Normally America's a wasteland when it comes to Zeuhl but Corima's neat.
The prog metal band in the second link, Gonin-ish very zeuhl/avant-prog/Magma influenced too.
I listened to Gonin-ish for the first time just a couple months ago, they're really good too. Think I liked their first album the most but gotta revisit them to be sure
