Richman is a genius, indeed, but he doesn't have a "grungy guitar tone" heh, in fact my post could be accurate for both but Rick writes pretty complex stuff from time to time... Anyway I wouldn't say Jonathan is basic but straightforward, he was probably the biggest VU fan on the planet back in the 70s, so it makes sense he was a 4 chords guy, his soloing and improv is pretty tasteful and rich, I like it a lot
