Reminder that op is a cringe earlyfag. Should have been a grindcore or booba edition

He's cringe mainly for other reasons.

What do you make of it?
When I first listened to it I was actually super disappointed, as it had less interesting moments than Antichrist or Words That Go Unspoken, and it didn't have too many moments where they go apeshit which is my favourite Akercocke. I also didn't really like the production, the mix seemed weird.
Now though I think it's relatively decent, and I love tracks like Familiar Ghosts that build up and then finally give me the schizo Akercocke I crave.
I'd still consider it the weaker of those 3, but not bad.

Bro it's shitty they didnt even put that much thought into it

Pretty much my thoughts, it lacks the whacky shit that made Akercocke the band they are, it's pretty listenable but I prefer everything else over it, just happened to be what I was blastan but going to put on antichrist next.

How do you mean? Some of the tracks are trying new things they didn't do before and it's clear they're going for a slower approach than normal. Familiar Ghosts is the only song in their discog I can think of with such a long controlled buildup, Inner Sanctum is another example where rather than go balls to the wall (as they would have before) they have these calmer moments.

The songwriting on some tracks is a bit shit, I feel like the first two tracks can be skipped entirely, but it's not what I'd call shit.

>just happened to be what I was blastan
Yeah I just don't see it too often here compared to earlier COCKE posting so I was curious if I was alone in what I thought or not.
Antichrist is like an 11/10 for me though so I didn't expect it to come anywhere near that.

Good Album
