i have a few new additions, but i can't seem to get a good picture, and they aren't too impressive anyway so whatever - though i did get the CD box set of Sufjan Steven's Silver & Gold from the library the other day (for 14 cents)
hoping people aren't too tired of me yet

That Makaya McCraven album was great

Slightly off topic but does anyone have that picture of the 2008 ''mu meeting'' with all those based people together in one room?

late millennial here
should i hold on to my CD collection? I have probably over 100. Are CDs going to become a thing like vinyl did? Or is this just a contrarian Any Forums fad?

>should i hold on to my CD collection?
yes

>Are CDs going to become a thing like vinyl did?
hope not

>Or is this just a contrarian Any Forums fad?
what sort of question is that

OP here. Definitely not a contrarian fad, at least not in my case. Hold on to them. After all, you can rip them in high quality onto your computer & listen to them in the car. Much more practical than vinyl imho.

for those who can't read:
Bad Brains Self Titled
Minor Threat Complete Discography
Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!
The Velvet Underground & Nico
Weezer - Pinkerton
XTC - Oranges & Lemons
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Spiritualized - Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
The Stooges - Fun House
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Pixies - Doolittle
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory?
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Nirvana - Nevermind
Kanye West - Late Registration
Madvillain - Madvillainy
Nas - Illmatic
Massive Attack - Blue Lines
M83 - Dead Cities, Read Seas & Love Ghosts
Fugazi - In On The Kill Taker
Dinosaur Jr. - Without A Sound
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Tender Prey
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Safe As Milk
Built To Spill - Perfect From Now On
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
The Doors - L.A. Woman
The Doors Self Titled
Beck - Odelay!
Beck - Mellow Gold
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F#A#∞

OP here. Idk, but it was only released on vinyl. Exmilitary is available on CD, but the median price for it on Discogs is ridiculous. Also not pictured in that stack: NLDW & Thursday’s “War All the Time.”

>After all, you can rip them in high quality onto your computer
im very late millenial. this is literally the only reason I bought 99% of them. Some I even scanned ;)

jewelcases are so prone to breaking anyways I'd rather not open them too often heh

Same, haha. It’s worth owning physical copies of your favorites to rip & scan then downloading whatever else on RuTracker or Bandcamp. Owning CD copies of my entire digital library would probably fill up like 10 big CD towers or more, so I’m just trying to save space. Some of the jewel cases broke in transit & I had to swap ‘em out, so I feel you on that one.

where do you get jewelcases? I had something arrive broken once and I ended up fishing through CDs at the thrift store for an unscratched jewelcase

Just found old ones laying around that were still in decent shape. Amazon has new ones & you might be able to get them shipped in fragile packaging so they don’t break in transit too.
