Everything about this band is generic on paper, but the sum is much greater than its parts. I especially love the evocative lyrics, and the vocal delivery of the lead singer, two aspects of music I usually summarily ignore. Excellent record.

Pretty much. "Landfill Indie" is a term used to describe the hordes of one-hit-wonder, mediocre indie rock bands that all suddenly appeared between about 2004 and 2007. The Fratellis, Kaiser Chiefs, The View, The Ting Tings, The Automatic, these are all landfill indie bands, but edgy zoomers in this shithole are just applying it to anything and everything. If a band doesn't have at least one minor mainstream hit then they do not qualify as landfill indie.
