i feel like the moody blues don't get enough appreciation nowadays. I mean yes, they did invent the genre so you can't really ignore them in prog discussions, but a lot of you fags write them off as having Nights in White Satin and thats it. they had some really good stuff after Days of Future Passed, I'd even say that their followup album is even better. Hell, even one of their 80s pop albums was pretty good.
it's unfortunate they aren't really popular with this generation, all of the people i know in real life who know the moody blues are age 50+
