why does Any Forums never talk about arab music?
Why does Any Forums never talk about arab music?
Real answer: most of Any Forums is from the Anglosphere (US, UK, Australia, Canada, etc.), and English-speaking audiences are notoriously ignorant toward non-English-speaking music, and even more toward non-"Western" music, with the exception of Japan because weeaboos. My boomer parents who are into classic rock don't even know who Serge Gainsbourg is.Some Latin music gets a little bit of a boost because it's right next to the US, but Middle Eastern, African, South Asian, etc. music is completely alien to most western music listeners.
I'm listening to Zay El Hawa and to me it sounds like anything out of Iraq and Syria etc.

The Qur'an says that Music is shirk but half of Muslim Countries ignore that rule and still make nice folk songs. Some even have orchestral groups, granted these are non-Arab Muslims so technically not related to this thread but pretty based nonetheless
