The 86-98 compilation is better. The 81-85 one is mostly their early synthpop fluff stuff like Just Cant Get Enough and shit.

12. It was a Mariah Carey tape. She had some really great stuff in the early ‘90s

actually kind of based. skynyrd aint bad user

MUSIC in general? Probably this bad ass motherfucker. I started to dig it a year after his death when I was 10. I transferred a few songs from the album to my good ol' slider cellphone for listening while in school. Beat It STILL is on my top 3 songs of all time.

Honestly, I think Dookie is also the album for me. I was like 10 when it came out and it's the first time I remember buying a album that my parents didn't listen to (not that they minded it).

i was 13

Pearl Jam and Slayer when I was 14

I bought these in 2006 and they were the first albums I bought with my own money. From there I became interested in classic albums, what made them classics, what is the difference between good and bad music, etc. The following year I got my first guitar, so while I can’t narrow down the specific first album I bought I’m sure they all played some role.

I was 12. I had bought albums before this and listened to them, but I wasn't a "fan" of anything before I listened to this. Van Halen are still one of my favorite bands.

The first time I saw the Paranoid Android music video (and heard the song) was a life-changing experience
I didn't know music could be like that, it seriously changed everything
