Pointless cover by a shitty hairband that loses all of the quirky goodness of Debby's voice. And that one armed poodle could never be as good a drummer as Clem.

Blondie version > original Nerves version > lame ass hair band's embarrassing cover.

Perfect version:

Original not bad version:

Not linking that hair band trash.

Yeah, definitely not that one.

It really is perfect, isn't it?

Blondie's run from their debut to Autoamerican is pretty stunning in general, though.

OP did not say "Only the worst albums"

it's fine, but it doesn't really do anything new or interesting, those are the worst kind of covers imo. it's a weird song to tackle for def leppard
>quirky goodness of Debby's voice
i never thought of describing debbie's voice that way, but i guess how overly husky her voice is in general is a bit quirky. she never really did high notes. she did come from the cbgb crowd so maybe she is just taking the piss with her vocals.
still, i can't imagine blonde with any other voice.

Hey, can you recommend some sexy husky baritone singers please

baritones are men, user
but that's not really my line of work, i'm a fag for soprano voices. i guess maybe she and him since zooey almost goes into parody with how husky she makes her voice sound at points.

I'm just thinking, is there like male version of Lana? Chil jazzy pop singers for inspiration

Let’s make this a general blondie thread.

not trying to tell you off but that might be worth making a thread for user. i know there's a few anons trying to make /singing/ general a thing
>Chil jazzy pop singers
i'd assume those would mostly be less baritone, more bass, but i could be wrong

It's how she uses vocal fry and inflection - she never sings anything straight, she slaps a ton of personality on her voice when she sings. Most of the really big singers do that, it's part of what makes them great. Listen to Hanging:

I'm in the phone booth, it's the one across the ho-all
If you don't answer, I'll just ring it off the wo-all

Part NYC accent, part punk "I don't give a fuck" piss take.

She can sing her ass off, straight. But it's what she slapped on it made it Blondie. You can usually tell it's her, because of her delivery.

Parallel Lines and pic related are peak New Wave

I don't know how to explain exactly, but I'll try. I'm thinking about developing smooth charismatic voice with cold approach
So far I can sing Dean Martin for example, but it's the old stuff, I want to modernize it somehow
>Singing thread
I made yesterday's ones and deftones style singing today
I just want my sound to be classy yet unique. I can sing some country but that's not my aesthetic so I'm at the crossroads here

Their debut album it’s also a classic.

thank you

Get a vocal teacher.
Learn what your natural range is.
Learn to develop it.

I don't know what it is about singers, every musician of any talent starts out with lessons, but vocalists think they can just wing it.
