first for jealousy

Second for a festering inferiority complex

/prod/, please help me out. I struggle with sound selection/sound design and composition(melody and chords) I get stuck over and over at those stages. Basically, the only thing I can do is program drums. What do I do? I'm completely stuck.

hi!

Third for shitposting bringing other anons down to cope

couple years old and lost the project file, pls r8. bass is mixed like shit

ear training. get to a place where you can emulate chord structures and sound design from other songs and build it into your repertoire. mix and match for a "unique" sound

what DAW do you use?

ableton. in a session right now and still pretty stuck. How do I have a clear goal?

Gonna take at minimum a couple of years, bud

IDK is this good

i'm gonna whip up something and you're gonna help me

ok i jotted something down really fast: vocaroo.com/13tUoeho8f2C

I need drums on this since you're the drum man. This clip is 120 BPM. Maybe you could try a simple melody on top of it too? Don't be afraid to repeat the clip a bunch. Try playing around in F Major and focus on the notes A and G.

Here's the WAV: mediafire.com/file/tzf24upby7ogadi/Fusion_Template_For_You_WAV.wav/file

I can maybe export the MIDI for you if it will help you to visualize it better. Give it a shot.

or consult this image

don't think too much about it, just start to sit on some notes and feel it. Feel it work or not work at the different chords. Make something simple, a little goes a long way.

Is this worth polishing up anymore? Or should I just leave it in the dustbin?

Not one fucking sound is inspiring me or sparking something, I want to sudoku

Dang, not that dude, but I would love to jam on this. Got work tomorrow though :(

do it anyway, I got work in the morning too so i'll be checking back on the thread tomorrow evening (EST for me). I look forward to it

Idk why but I hate starting with the chords and melody. Drums are the most inspiring to me, I wish I wasn't weird
