UPON WHICH NEVER CAME YOKE

what is this vaxx your talking about?

lol no

Use your ears.

yeah you gotta get back to acoustic if you can, the electric aint the same
i lived in japan for 5 years, came didnt start up durms again for another 5 years, so that was 10 years of rust, and with practice 3 times a week (an hour - 3 each) rudiments, play to songs, maybe jam with friends, i shook that rust off and am better than i used to be after about 6-8 months
so just put the time in even if its an hour a day twice a week and youll see fast improvement cause the muscle memory is still there, and when you get the stamina and shit back you wont have the feather shit anymore

Nice
Looks like I had the last laugh in the end

You know what sucks? Traditional Doom Metal.

Yeah I get it. It's more like 2 to 3 times a week, like for a half hour usually, and admittedly I don't do the "chores" like rudiments etc. I can see improvements quite quickly, but I live with others and try to pick times where I'm not gonna piss everyone off. 15 year old me was much better at the drums, but I can do stuff now I couldn't do then.
Basically I'm looking to move out at some point, and I'm only going to look for places where I can slap in a decent drumkit and go ham whenever I'm bored.

That clip you sent was neat, it reminded me of Ticks & Leeches by Carey. I loved the fact the main rhythm is so complex despite using so few drums as he slams only specific notes. Even the covers I used to see that were quite accurate seemed to use more toms than Carey ever did, even if they were mostly correct the rest of the time.
I think I've accepted I won't ever have that kind of control and just focus on trying to have more interesting fills than the usual double bass/tom fills or consecutive rolls.
One day I will be able to play None So Vile, I swear to god.
