/meal, what is the lowest rated album or EP on RYM that is an easy 5/5 for you?
For me it’s Mayhem’s Grand Declaration of War.

I don't know or care about RYM, but likely The Synarchy of Molten Bones. It's my favorite metal album of all time and is still relatively unappreciated in the DsO fandom, although more people have slowly started to realize that it's a landmark album in their prolific discography and the one that at the end of the day reigns supreme over all the rest.

king night

Synarchy is really underrated, it has his issues (namely, relying to much on dissonant arpeggios), but overall it's one of my favourite releases of their, it's just a relentless crazy ride and thematically it's great (thanks gord they dropped the boring-ass bataillian satanism no one understands but them)

God poor Oz. He looks like one of the characters he used to play in the 80s, a demented old wizard.

Paracletus dumpsters over Synarchy every day of the week, and I say that as someone who loves Synarchy.

What's with the eyeliner and the fake nails?

damn fenriz got old

Bataille is present on Fas and DA, the rest veers in all sorts of different philosophical territories when you take a look at sources, though a substantial lot would be Catholic theologians, but you also have German idealism, 20th century continental philosophy, etc.

Paracletus is great, but Synarchy is better.

Shout at the devil cause it's the best Mötley album !!! Even danger has some serious RIFFS

What are some bands where the level of the lead guitar playing basically carries what are otherwise so-so songs?

Racer X and Lion/Bad Moon Rising immediately spring to mind for me.
