If you ask someone to "name three songs" because they have merch on you are a social retard.
However, part of the reason I like wearing band merch is that it's a conversation piece to find other fans.
I'd say that mainstream 80s/90s bands are outside of the poser status. You are allowed to wear a led zeppelin, ACDC, or Nirvana shirt because they are essentially just brands at this point. But if you are strutting around with a Spiritbox shirt on and you don't listen to them, that's kinda weird.
