For me it's when they ruined The Dismemberment Plan guy's career. I mean they don't have to rate him high, and the album did suck. but a 0 was cruel.

>The band lay it on as thick as the era's polyester double-knits, contemplating "What if someone liked the Beatles AND the Rolling Stones?" without taking it much further.

how about you KO yourself?

That review fucked up his life so bad the story made the Wikipedia page

Link?

> I just got the sense [Pitchfork] thought I was a rock star and they wanted to take me down a peg, but I don't think it occurred to them that the review could have a catastrophic effect... Up until the day of the review, I'd play a solo show, and people would be like, 'That's our boy, our eccentric boy.' Literally, the view changed overnight... I could tell people were trying to figure out if they were supposed to be there or not. It was pretty severe, how the mood changed. The review isn't the story. The reaction to it is. The seriousness with which everyone takes Pitchfork is kind of mind-boggling.

She's right though that album is not very interesting

Her name is literally Hussey and she fits the bill. That's a good album and some mad roastoid doesn't change shit

But it's like them saying "Oh remember this band we hyped up? We were wrong actually." Like wtf?

They never would have docked the score is the band continued to produce decent music. It's more that the band had some potential and squandered it. It's a pretty dumb thing to do but whatever. Foxygen's first album was good.

fuck pitchfork

Hi Travis!

Steely Dan 2 Against Nature review in 2000 saying theyre the lamest band of all time we, then doing a 180 on them 20 years later when they get trendy with zoomers

You do realize that p4k 20 years ago was a completely different site with completely different people running it right?

that album was good at the time, though, because it was released at the peak of the Dark net market-era where everybody was getting high quality LSD shipped to their house and there was a sort of psychedelic revival.
It was really well timed, but yeah now it makes sense they call it a 6.3 and rightfully so.
2012-2014 was basically the 70s part 2.

I wonder how Brent DiCrescenzo copes with all his most infamous negative takes ending up on the wrong side of history.

There are a lot of bands that made shit music late in their career. Maybe we should retroactively hate all of them.

Buml

That's a disgustingly roundabout way of saying you don't like the music anymore because it is not niggerish enough for the pozzed poptimist age. At least Scaruffi is honest.
