It's not the accusation itself that destroys an artist, it's how believable it is and how the artist responds. You making some fake account to claim you got raped is almost likely to never go anywhere where as the accusations from Jesse Lacey came from people who had actual interactions with him and then Lacey's response was not one of denial but one of apologies and basically admitting he had a sex addiction.
Almost no one remembers this probably but JPEGMafia got accused of rape by some literal who anonymous person online but there was no evidence to corroborate the claim and there was inconsistencies in the story. JPEGMafia also denied the allegations shortly after and it was quickly forgotten. That's the difference between an allegation that destroys an artist and an allegation that fades away to obscurity.
