This board’s taste is fucking HORRENDOUS! All fags.
Besr chart here by far
a bunch of stuff here is great like stgstv future days and narkopop but can anyone tell me the appeal of good morning good night? it feels like something twinks proclaim they like to seem cool but it's literally just tinnitus-core
>deathconsciousness
Stopped watching the chart there
This is my chart and I have to agree
Although only a couple months ago it was a lot better, there were some actual patricians like the chart I’m posting, now everyone just posts generic mucore
I have synesthesia and I like how it looks
Makes my brain feel good and make me feel at peace
Filtered
I’m a twink as well btw
yes, I get filtered by whiny soi garbage
>Normie experimental
>Best chart on the site
Stop larping. We all know you're a drainer in disguise. POST THE REAL CHART.
it's so funny to me when rym drones cry about people listening to Any Forumscore or whatever but then parrot the exact same group of albums everytime
>music from a jail, basic channel, stockhausen, future days, good morning good night, those ashley/satie picks, token beethoven work
the exact collection of albums of someone whose only experience with music is from this website and the 5 star ratings of a rym user you want to be
It's funny because Future Days isn't even CAN's best. I've come to notice that RYM really likes middling albums from artists with otherwise great discographies.
Filtered yea it is
Yeah I’m new to music and only drone off rym and Any Forums, idc about being obscure or unique all I care about is listening to stimulating music
Don't get me wrong, it's a fine album, but the Krautrock chart on RYM places it far above Tago Mago, which is just wrong.
abelian 2.0
>idc about being obscure or unique all I care about is listening to stimulating music
This board need more people with this mentality, people here care a lot about originality instead of quality and that is reflected in the chart threads as well
A lot of people just shit on charts because it is RYM-core or scaruffi-core regardless if the chart has good albums or not
And the worst part is that people exaggerate with that, I have seen people that their taste doesn't have too much to do with scaruffi, but just because they have faust, twin infinitives and a few scaruffi 9s in his chart they count as scaruffi-drones
You’re right they should be neck and neck
Really I don’t have a strong opinion on which ones better, atm I prefer future days and think it’s more complex and detailed as well as more enjoyable to listen to, but I haven’t listened to tago mago in full in a while
What does that mean
Same attitude for me. I enjoy wacky fun psych stuff for the most part. There's some Any Forums core here and there, but if I like an album, I like it
I don't know. The chart threads typically feature the same conglomerate of artists, which are really good, but I wish people branched out and explored derivative genres or even just explore an artists discography. If someone has Popol Vuh, it's usually always Hosianna Mantra. Same thing with other bands like Yes (Closer to the Edge), De La Soul (3 Feet High and Rising), Siouxsie (JuJu). It feels kind of pointless after a while when everyone is just listening to the same things everyone else does on here without looking elsewhere. It's fine to use RYM and Scaruffi, but they should serve as a bouncing off point to different avenues.
Because people's favorite albums on here are just their favorite albums from certain critics instead of finding out for themselves. If you've heard enough music the only thing that makes you disqualified from being a critic is just connections and writing skill. I can tell when something is good regardless if it's bolded or not on RYM. I don't care that some idiot with Tyler The Creator and Radiohead in their 5s gives one of my favorite albums 3 stars on RYM.
While I agree with the sentiment that people should listen to more things of the band/artist if they liked an album of said band that much and that having charts with the same albums over and over again is boring, sometimes the most boring answer is the correct answer, I'm not saying that they are correct for having the most acclaimed album of the band as their favourite, but I'm sure that there are people who listened to all or at least most of the discographies of a band and still think that their most popular is their best (for example, me sometimes)
Also, isn't the point of the chart thread give your opinion and recommendation of a chart? There should be more post about "What do you like so much about X album? I think it's overrated" and "Get into X band discography if you haven't already" and less post about shitting on a chart for the sake of shitting on a chart

I don't usually participate in those threads. I just glean what I can and listen to things I see that seem interesting. If it's from a genre I'm unfamiliar with, I'll just read about on wiki and go from there.

That's true, but aren't the threads supposed to showcase new music you've been listening to? Of course new people may people be starting out and listening to the popular critically acclaimed stuff.
there are two kind of chart threads, one is to post new music you have listened to and other one is to post a chart with the topic you want, with the most common one being your favourite albums
