Feel old yet?

Yeah what the fuck. 2012 albums do not feel that old. GKMC, Born to Die, Money Store, don't feel only 3 years removed from MPP.
no
I feels like I blinked and skipped half a decade
Yes, but only because I've gained weight and started losing my hair. Not because of the music.
Same. 2017 feels like yesterday.
Same! I went from 24 to 29 in a blink
Maybe it’s because I was 16 back then and the jump from 16 to 21 is a lot bigger than 21 to 26, but it doesn’t feel like that long ago. 2012-2017 felt different whereas 2017-2022 doesn’t. I don’t know. Maybe I’m just coping with getting older.
Will never forget listening to this and their self titled for the first time, I've never heard music like it before and I fell in love immediately
It's only going to get worse as you get older. Time will continue to speed up exponentially and it will never stop. There is only peace in death.
This is true, up until I rekindled my relationship with God. I'm not trying to sound like a prude, but if some anons are genuinely depressed about it try going to Church. I don't even talk to anyone and it's pretty enjoyable. It makes life easier and the days go by a little longer with that comfort in the back of my head.
the comfort of what, some lies? you think when you die you're going up to some place next to your dead relatives? lmao, yeah including some neanderthals, homoerectus and some plankton.
Actually, people have the impression of time passing more slowly when you are in your 50s. I was talking to my dad about it few weeks ago.
Yes I do, because physics and metaphysics aren't related. Maybe I believe in lies, but I know for sure I'm less miserable than you. Which is all that matters.
2012 was the year i started browsing Any Forums, i remember so much fotm shit from that year that no one cares about anymore. chromatics, perfume genius, that one spiritualized album, the seer before it got completely overshadowed by tbk, the list goes on...
makes me wonder what albums are being posted now that no one will care about in ten years. i imagine shit like bcnr is going to age really fucking badly
bcnr is reddit-tier idiot
This, and I look almost the same But the music I'm interested becomes more and more niche and hard to find. The memedemic had a lot to do with it I think. We all had a giant NEET party for a couple of years.
lol just because someone believes death is the end doesn't mean they're miserable. if you need to huff premium copium just to stay off your meds than go for it champ
You need to learn how to use proper grammar before engaging in topics like this. Regardless, the ultimate reality is that Atheism is nihilism and nihilism is self destruction. Nietzsche is clear on this... If anyone is coping it's you friend.
i don't care about grammar on some ching chong ding dong website fool. if not believing in an afterlife is self destructive then why are scientists more likely to be non-religious while niggers are literally incredibly religious while being a national disaster?
That's a misconception mate. There are plenty of academics that are believers in metaphysics. One of the core founders of the modern world, Isaac Newton was a firm believer in this. In-fact he wrote more about the Bible and spirituality than he did about actual physics and science. It's up to you whether you want to go down that path, however I will say it's pretty interesting to say the least.
newton lived in a different era, whether or not he'd be religious in a time period after darwin's theory of evolution was proven as a fact is something else. generally speaking however, less intelligent modern populations tend to show higher religious beliefs. plenty of self destructive convicts are religious. saying that "atheism is self destructive" is just another cope mate.
I always mix these two up.
i started feeling old the moment I turned 30.
i've always felt old i think. i never liked or connected to the pop culture of my day, and all youth activities just felt weird and stilted (including the key formative ones, which ironically stunted my growth as a person and, mentally, left me a permanent child); when one was supposed and allowed (if not expected) to act rebellious and iconoclastic, i rejected and retreated, but this aloofness grew out of fear and confusion, never some misguided sense of pride or superiority. and now that i'm officially old, or at least not pop culture's target market anymore, i feel completely disconnected from humanity. if i could give one piece of advice to my younger self, or anyone else in the same position, it'd be "just join in"
Darwin's theory of evolution would have had no impact on Newton due to his pre-existing knowledge of evolution (both as a concept and biologically) that he derived from his occult work. Newton didn't write about the Bible in any way that you're thinking (props to the other user for mentioning this, though), Newton wasn't making anything resembling Christian commentary. Newton was working on translations of ancient texts that describe correspondences between geometric space, harmonic ratios, and planetary orbits. This isn't "Noah's ark and (((sky daddy)))" or whatever you fedora tipping losers think the elite work with in spirituality. Newton was working on reconstructing Greco-Egyptian astronomical science and studying how it diffused throughout the ancient world. This is the same pass-time study that was taken up by Pythagoras, Plato, John Dee, the entirety of UK aristocracy (especially Scotland), the founding fathers of the USA, etc. While you le atheists fight suicidal ideation from your shallow naval-gazing deconstructive nihilism and ill-placed superiority that you derive from discounting the modern oppressive church systems, the philosophers and theologians are working on unveiling the story of humanity and its place in the solar system from historic accounts no younger than Athenian Greece. You know NOTHING of what he worked or, or the people he worked with to research these topics. You should feel ashamed of yourself for broaching this topic without a cursory knowledge of hermeticism or the European enlightenment, and I assure you that this knowledge has been kept from you in casual conversation because anyone who knows of this topic would smell your pedantic Funko-pop belief structure 20 feet away and know to fucking avoid you (protip: this is the same reason deep-lore masons and rosicrucians swear oaths to keep this information from soiboiz like you under penalty of death).
kino live show, i've watched it a dozen of times

>Darwin's theory of evolution would have had no impact on Newton due to his pre-existing knowledge of evolution (both as a concept and biologically)
stopped taking you seriously here, lmao i like how triggered you got over newton.
you realize he got a lot of shit wrong too, right? his belief in the corpuscular theory of light had many problems with it. even with the best scientists you take the things that they got right and discard the rest. if you want to go off on how great his occult work and alchemy was then go fall off that cliff bro. if you love the guy so much why don't you follow in his footsteps and become a level 100 wizard by dying a virgin, you're already halfway there.
2012 on Any Forums as i remember it was the summer of Centipede Hz hype and Lazare. Yes, i feel old.
the burrito toss heard around the world...nevar 4get
i'm pretty young so 2012 being 10 years ago doesn't get to me as much as 2009 being 13 years ago does but i remember when bloom came out cause my cousins had a bootleg cd with myth on it. sounds corny but the first time i heard that song it changed my life
2009 called, they want their fedora back.
stfu nigger

Not for me, I know how to fix it. I won't share though.
Shitty Cocteau twins ripoff
cuckteau twins xD
sure chz was no mpp but it was still pretty damn good. aged well for me at least
So good!
I bought Nirvana Nevermind on cassette tape when it came out. Everyone itt is a beebee to me.
Damn. This year will be 10 years since my girlfriend died.
Album came out in May 2012, so for three sweet months over the summer we got to enjoy this album together on long, hazy car rides.
i liked music more back then.
I was at uni in 2012 and it's weird seeing all these albums that in my mind are still kinda new are now 10 years old. Like I have really vivid memories of listening to GKMC, Money Store and Hurry Up, We're Dreaming during that time.
Nah that seems right.
most Any Forums response ive ever read
I love Beach House so much bros
Genuinely among the best albums ever released.
For me, it was 23. Turning 23 was the worst mistake of my life.
i remember when exmilitary came out. ive been here for too long, thankfully i only open Any Forums occasionally when the other boards are slow
Not really. I was listening to Beach House back in '08 or so, they played a show at a real small music venue called The Mill in Iowa City. They weren't a band I expected to blow up.
